Synod is the intermediate governmental unit responsible for the mission of the church throughout its region. Synod of the Sun consists of 11 presbyteries from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana. They are one of 16 synods within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
